Grilled Pizza

I made about a million mistakes with this challenge, but it still tasted good, and that’s all that really matters, right?! First of all, I used the rectangular-shaped Pillsbury dough. BAD idea. Not the store-bought part, but the shape of the dough. I really should have reshaped it into a circle to make it easier to get on and off the grill, or made two smaller pizzas. We actually ended up with two smaller pizzas because it was too heavy once we added the toppings and the dough tore apart. Another mistake…we didn’t grill the dough long enough before adding the toppings. Oh, and another mistake before that…I didn’t put enough flour on the dough to help it slide off the pan and onto the grill. It ended up falling onto the grill in a wrinkled clump that I had to try to smooth out without burning myself. That’s why it’s so oddly misshapen in the pictures below.

All the mistakes aside, this pizza tasted AMAZING! Cooking it on the grill really does add so much flavor. It tasted a lot more like something you’d get in a restaurant. Baked pizza just doesn’t compare.

I’ve learned from my mistakes, so next time our pizza will be much more beautiful than what is shown in the photos below:

The final product. Not visually appealing, but tasted pretty darn good!
