How to dress for your body shape: Oval

Oval body shapes are quite common, and they have a lot of similar features to Rectangles, because women of both body shapes tend to look “straight” and have similar bust, waist and hip measurements. The unique characteristics of an Oval body shape are that the legs and arms tend to be proportionally more slender, and weight tends to be centered in the midsection. A rounded tummy—at any size—is common among Ovals.

To balance out an Oval shape, draw attention upward by wearing V neck and scoop necklines. Create an hourglass illusion by wearing A line and empire waist dresses. Most Ovals do best when they choose clean lines and avoid wearing belted styles or dresses that have a seam right at the waist. Don’t be shy–flaunt those great looking arms and legs by customizing your outfits with shorter hemlines and cap sleeves!
