What’s happening? (And more about Coffee Filter Light Fixture)

It’s the tardy blogger writing.

I find that it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I have unanswered emails, comments and LOTs of unread blog posts in my reader. So what happened? If you’re not interested and just want to find out more about the light fixture, just skip the next couple of paragraph 🙂

It’s a little bit like this.

Around Christmas, I began losing feeling in my left arm. It was numb, kept giving me the pins and needles sensation, and the worst of all, loss of strength! To me, that’s the worst feeling, because I live, breath and teach yoga. If I have nerve damage to my left arm and I can’t do yoga anymore, it would be devastating. So began trips to the doctor’s office. Who knew trying to seek medical help could be so time consuming? To cut the long story short, it turns out that I did have a pinched nerve. In the process though, the doctors discovered that my neck bones curve the wrong way, and that I have low bone density… etc. Sigh, I’ve always thought myself to be in the best of health. I still like to think so…. hahahaha!

So, this has been consuming my life. It’s been trips to the dr’s office, x-ray techs and now chiropractor’s. The good new is that my arm’s doing well. It’s nothing life(or livelihood) threatening, and if I deal with it now, I may be able to reverse some of these problems. Hooray for early detection.

I’ve been getting emails and comments about the coffee filter light fixture, and I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to answer everyone. I feel terrible about that.

It started with a wreath that I saw before, but it’s was not as full and decadent as the one here. It was so beautiful, I knew that I wanted to make something similar. Gorgeous, right?

Anyway, I decided to use the idea to make a light fixture out of IKEA parts. Specifically,

And a ceiling fixture cord kit. Actually, mine came from the IKEA Melodi, which had cost me $10 at the time of purchase.
